Judges Critique

 

I would like to thank the Committee for inviting me to judge at this show and  the exhibitors for entering under me.  Also, thanks to my two stewards for working so hard. My Best in Show was Phillips’ Rathsrigg April Rose, Reserve Best in Show Walshaw’s Janmark Allannora and Best Puppy Graham’s Ruffsfurze Mavrodaphne.

Class 1 – PD (2) Both exhibits similar in size, shape and coat colour  1 Black’s Carsgailoch Blue Lite Blue 9 months old , good head with length of muzzle, correct front, angulation and topline, low set hocks,  moved well with correct tail carriage.   2 Phillip’s Rathsrigg Ask Im   Blue 8 months old  with narrow  head , well filled up under eye , good length of neck, correct angulation and topline, moved well.

 Class 2 – JD (3) 1 Black’s Carsgsiloch Blue Lite 2 Hearty’s  Inglemmaric Make My Day  Nice size, sound head and forequarters,  unsettled on the move 3 Schofield’s Miteymidgets Vickers

Class 3 – ND (3) 1 Black’s Carsgiloch Blue Lite  2 Benyon’s Makems Pride of Success Nice head with dark eye and good black nose, correct top line, lost out on movement  3 Schofield’s Miteymidgets Vickers

Class 4 – PGD (2) 1 Wharton-Smith & Smith’s Miteymidgets Shermantank  Up to size blue dog, good reach of neck springing up from well laid shoulders, good depth of chest and tuck up, arch over loin 2 Brooks’ Mollora Solomons Seal  Similar dog, preferred top line and tail carrage of 1.

Class 5 – LD (4-1) 1Walshaw’s Janmark Allannora  Up to size blue dog with outstanding head, well balanced with correct anugulation and top line,  good depth of brisket, moved with purpose and drive BD & RBIS. 2 Richardson’s Upnorth Quicksilver Narrow head , good reach of neck, nice forequarters, correct tail set, preferred movement of 1. 3 Crump’s  Elizdrew Lucky Jim

Class 6 – OD (5-1) 1 Jones’ Pengerrig Iron Duke Correct sized dog with good coat colour and muscle, flowing topline , correct angulation, well let down hocks RBD. 2 Mayes’ Rathsrigg One Misty Morning Correct size shapely dog with nice coat colour,  good angulation, preferred movement of 1. 3 Bannister’s Miteymidgets Mighty Cobra 

Class 7 – SBD (3) 1 Black’s Carsgiloch Blue Lite 2 Benyon’s  Makens Pride of Success 3 Schofield’s Miteymidgets Vickers

Class 8 – PB (3) 1Graham’s Ruffsfurze Mavrodaphne  An alert, 11 month old blue bitch with pleasing outline, long narrow head and dark eye, moved freely and covered ground well.   2 Brooks’ Rathsrigg Boudica 9 month old blue  bitch, a little unsettled but correct size and good type,  with maturity should do well.  3 Bilcliife’s Dellriven Beutey

Class 9 - JB (2) 1 Bannister’s Miteymidgets Matilda    femine head,  good front and  angulation,  hocks well  let down, good muscle tone made for positive movement. 2  Walters & Mitchell’s  Aireview Xmas Holly Good size, feminine  head with nice expression.  Correct topline and depth of chest. Lost out on movement.

Class 10 – NB (5-2)1 Noades’ Sanedo Gypsys Dream  Good size with dark coat,  good length of neck on correct shoulders, nice top line, moved with purpose 2 Schorah’s Rivendown Rekindlin A Star Feminine bitch of nice size, correct topline and sound movement  3 Lewis’ Makems Filthy and Gorgeous

Class 11 – PGB (5-2) 1 Collier’s  Mollora Little Rosie Nicely presented, good head and eye, neck and topline, Correct angulation and muscle, good movement  2 Schorah’s Rivendown Bonnie Blue Bell Well presented with good forequarters and correct rear angulation, lovely tail carriage, preferred length to height ratio of 1.   3 Wharton-Smith & Smith’s Miteymidgets Shooting Star

Class 12 – LB (3-1) 1 Collier’s Miteymidgets Cruiser  Eyecatching coat colour, femine size with pleasing overall appearance, good head with lovely expression , correct  angulation , moved with drive.  2 Bouse’s Tredomen Tar Baby Good shape and appearance , similar but just preferred size and  movement of 1.

Class 13 – OB (10-3) 1 Phillip’s Rathsrigg April Rose Caught my eye when she came into the ring, best  type  and balance  with excellent coat.  Good head and neck going into correct shoulders, correct  front,  flowing  topline and strong hindquarters which gave her  drive when moving BB & BIS. 2 Morrice’s Mollora Fancy Pants Up to size but shapely, balanced and in proportion , good neck and shoulder placement,  correct topline, muscled,  good movement. RBB.  3 Richardson’s  Ch UpnorthSister Bliss

Class 14 – SBB (3-2) 1  Brooks’ Rathsrigg Boudica

Class 15 – VD/B (7-3) 1 North’s Niddvale Spring Warrior One I have placed before.  Correct sized dog with thick coat of good colour, well muscled and fit. 2 Bannister’s Ch Moltyke Taggles with Miteymidgets  Larger dog than 1 in excellent condoition.  3 Burns & Phillips’ Rathsrigg Rose Cut
